And he insisted that is art was not just about making heels higher and higher. He has also been working on making his shoes disappear into the wearer's leg in a series which he calls Les Nudes—in a variety of skin colours—as well as designs which lengthen the leg.
Other highlights of the often cheeky show, which runs until July 28, include a hologram of a shoe that turns into the burlesque star Dita Von Teese as well a series of Louboutin-sporting nudes shot by the American film director David Lynch. Louboutin rejoices in the fact that his shoes have now become so iconic that his name has become a shorthand for luxury and sexiness, popping up in rap songs, films and books.
Skip to main content. I am going to write a piece on my experience with the repair service for one of my old pairs so stay tuned! There is another aspect to watch out for with the soles. While the pointy toe in Pigalle and the round toe box in Simple Pump remain absolutely intact yay! This may be something to do with the delicate nature of the leather used but it seems that the tip is thinning much faster than the rest of the sole.
I would not say that this is particularly aesthetically disturbing, just something I have become aware of with years of Louboutin wear. This phenomenon is most noticeable in platform Loubs but also, to an extent, in the Simple Pump and Pigalle. In terms of leather uppers, I have always been a big fan of patent leather used both in Simple Pump and Pigalle models.
It is very strong, resilient and shows very little signs of aging allowing Louboutin pumps to retain their shape and structure for a long time. Its sturdy nature also helps to hold the foot firmly in place so the pump will not slip after a longer wear. The beige colour loses a bit of shine after years of heavy rotation more so than the black patent leather, for some reason but not to the point of looking tatty and can be buffed to appear glossier.
Besides, unless you compare the old and the new version of the patent side by side, like in the above picture, you would not see much difference. These little pieces of art will not look out of place with either evening gowns or jeans making any outfit appear just a bit more fabulous and flirtatious, even after years of wear.
In addition, the longer you own them the more enjoyable they become as the comfort of these stilettos improves with time. Overall verdict: Absolute necessity.

Being a Louboutinista myself, I totally agree with your insights. Great work! Hi Ury! Have a great day! I have a couple pairs of hot chick s. And they are comfortable for louboutin standards. I also have several pairs of so kates.
Those on the other hand are wear to event….. And hide them and put on flats. I would almost rather be drawn by horses then go a whole night in so kates. The torture might be equivalent But they are worth the statement if you can bear them for a couple hours.
I know just what you mean! The crazy things we do for fashion! As one of the patrons of Christian Louboutin pumps, we really hope the powers that be will bring back these styles, so we can complete our desired stiletto heel selections.
Hi there! I always liked the look of the Decocolico Mary Janes too. Louboutin sees his shoes as fashion iconography — as art. And while this is certainly a beautiful idea in theory, it's not especially practical. If you have the budget to splurge on a pair of high heels, does it make sense to buy a pair that are nearly too uncomfortable to walk in?
