We were all born to accomplish something great, something satisfying, and something rewarding that will make a positive difference in the world. That gets easier when you remind yourself that you are only here for a flicker of time and one day you will be gone. Be thankful for everything you have. Be thankful for your ability to see, walk, and talk. There are people all over the world without basic needs like clean water, food, and shelter.
Thank the people in your life who helped you get to be where you are today. Everyone loves the idea of getting to the top on their own. They have to go through obstacles, roadblocks, and speed bumps along the way. In sports, if the other team scores, are you just going to quit? At your job, are you going to quit every time you make a mistake? I hope not. Winners embrace adversity and fight through challenges. Winners know you either grow or you die. Right now, you might have a decent job, with decent pay, and decent benefits.
But is that you what you really want? Or are you just settling? If you want a more enjoyable and exciting personal life, find a way to make it happen. Once you recognize your bad habits, you need to make changes. You need to replace your bad habits with positive habits—make them a new way of life so you can be more successful. Successful people, in all areas of life, earn bigger "payoffs" by working incredibly hard long before any potential return is in sight--they earn their success through effort and sacrifice. Most people expect to know they will get more before they will ever consider doing more.
