My shotguns are It's the curse of being tall, regular stocks don't fit and pretty much most motorcycles are too small! Dusmw Tracker. Davidson's has an exclusive Mossberg in maricoate and a I had to add a slip on recoil pad on my Marlin Y to shoot it properly. At 6'2" I just feel too cramped and unnatural shouldering most off the shelf long guns.
The heavier the recoil the more important it is to have the proper fitting lop! Extending the stock on a lever is tricky. It's the main reason I sold my rossi 92, the curved butt plate prevented me from adding a grind to fit recoil pad. If I was to square off the curved cut I'd essentially end up with the same length stock. It might seem insignificant but it actually makes or breaks the gun for me. Today I went on a journey to visit all the gun and motorcycle shops inside a 1. It was fun The most interesting motorcycle I saw was a new Ural sidecar and if I had that much burning a hole in my pocket I'd have drove it home!
Seriously fun vehicle! I also got to see several lever action rifles including two JM 's, several 94's of different vintage and one spx which I couldn't cycle the action on because it was ziplocked.
The 94's where just as I remember them and a couple had the sloppy lever that dropped with hardly any effort.
The 's where pre cross-bolt safety and I wasn't impressed with the machining and finish of the receiver. This is just how I remember them and I was never overly impressed.
They have a two tone finish, polished blued on the flats and rough blue on the top and bottom. I liked the clean machining of the receiver the best but I'm not so keen on the matte finish. I still haven't worked the action of a but I have one coming Slips73 Guide.
If you're interested in a marlin jm stamped I usually have some come and go through my collection buying out in flag and am a resident in both ca and az. Also dodge city has some post 64 winchesters if i recall that were fairly clean and just got some older marlins in. I would be hesitant on the mossberg, never been a huge fan of the company and materials used in their firearms.

As you already know being a Glock guy , opinions will vary. Only you will know how well you made out once you get some time behind the sights. Please keep us informed! I picked up the rifle today , cleaned it, looked it over, and cycled a bunch of dud rounds thru it. Feeding is excellent even working the action quickly. There are a few videos on youtube showing feeding issues, I don't see that with this rifle.
Live firing will tell the real story but so far I don't anticipate a feeding issue. The action was tight for the first several strokes but it's since smoothed out, feels really good! It came with sling swivels already installed which I didn't expect.
I was prepared to drill and tap the rear band but to my surprise this was already done! I replaced the rear sight with my preferred rear sight which is the marbles bullseye. Re: Marlin variants Post by Jaguarundi » Thu Jun 12, am My earlier forum post "The of Legend still slays large game" speaks volumes. Re: Marlin variants Post by El Chivo » Thu Jun 12, am The C is the walnut version, has carbine bands The A isn't made anymore but there should be some still in the stores.
It is the plain Jane with a forend cap instead of bands. I just got one. Got some really nice looking wood on it, too. The W is like the C, only with hardwood instead of walnut, and has that cool gold trigger and it comes with a sling. I think those are the only differences, besides sights. All have checkering, pistol grip, and 20" barrels.
You get up when you feel like it. You fry yourself some eggs. You see what kind of a day it is. Re: Marlin variants Post by Pisgah » Thu Jun 12, pm The model designations have changed over the years to the point that I am not sure any more which is which. But to answer your question -- there is no fundamental difference between the models except wood and style -- full length vs. The action is the same action across the board, and the least expensive model will shoot as well as the most expensive.
And, for the typical hog-hunting scenario the. I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot. I've also noticed a catalog notation that it's a designation for a walnut stocked carbine. Any of them in. Re: Marlin variants Post by El Chivo » Thu Jun 12, pm note that the new version of "A" s don't have 24" barrels, they are 20" and full mag like the others. Re: Marlin variants Post by O. The folks saying that. Many in Texas shoot the pig in the "ear" to go through the brain and drop said pig on the spot. Re: Marlin variants Post by t.
Many models have a blued nose cap which covers a dovetailed connection. Many years ago, it was common to dovetail the tube magazine to the barrel as well. This eliminated barrel bands altogether.
