So my question for you is this:. Is your character a believer in innate evil? Or does your character believe that everyone is doing the best they can, and whenever you can you champion those who are doing good? If it's the former, then kill giants on sight. If it's the latter, only kill giants who you see performing evil acts. Giants are the closest of the Mer Races to Nords. My characters do it for the right to buy property, or because Orcish Boots, Gauntlets, and Cuirass look good on certain characters.
I have never killed a Giant just to collect Toes. I had killed a Dragon, saved three Mammoths and a Giant, and another Giant attempted to send My character orbital for it. I was trying to help the giants and mammoths kill some bandits who were shooting at them and then when I killed a bandit with my bow the giants suddenly turned on me instead and I never even hit a giant or mammoth at all.
For their ungrateful attitude, I killed them off too. All around good input guys! I am doing a defender of the people RP at the moment so it was important to know what giants are up to Not that I was running out of things to do, plenty of bandits to take care of!
I'm playing a moral. I kill giants but not mammoths. Not really sure I can support my reasoning. When I first entered Skyrim I avoiding killing anything that didn't really really ask for it. Now I'm on a one man aggrandize. I didn't used to kill the giants but I need their souls to power my weapons that will destroy a man like me who intends to ruin the world.
I had a random moment where I was walking along a path and a giant started running after me for no apparent reason! This is in contrast to the contracts issued by Jarls , which state that the giant at a local named location has been harassing and attacking people and livestock.
Due to a possible bug, sometimes they also appear to ignore the Dragonborn's presence altogether even if both are face to face with each other.
Leather containers in which the giants store mammoth cheese. Mountain giants are often seen traveling with mammoths. These mammoths stay close to the giants' camps, and pouches of mammoth cheese are often found nearby, supporting the conclusion that the giants raise mammoths like livestock. Additionally, there is a giant herding a cow from the base of the path from Labyrinthian. The giant walks with the cow to Sleeping Tree Camp or another giant camp.
After that, they stand still for hours. Giants are usually only found in the snowy terrain of The Pale , the vast tundra of Whiterun , or the warmer parts of Eastmarch , where they can roam freely.
Giants can be found in Falkreath Hold or Hjaalmarch as well, but they are usually only there to raid the player character's homestead. There is no evidence that giants need to rest or sleep, as they are never seen doing so. Their camps rarely, if ever, contain bedding materials. In some camps, giants have left a giant club lying on the ground. While the Dragonborn cannot equip it, certain followers possessing Two Handed weapon skills can.
Some farmers offer cows as a sacrifice to the giants in order to avoid attacks on livestock. The cows are painted with traditional markings so that the giants recognize them as peace offerings. However, giants have been known to kill these farmers and ignore the peace offerings. An angry man named Ennis , mentions that the Dragonborn sold his goat to a giant named Grok in the quest "A Night to Remember. If Hearthfire is installed, it becomes evident that Giants can and will attack homesteads, often killing people and animals.
The exact cause of the attacks is unknown. Don't have an account? Sign up for free! How do I kill a giant?? First time i fought one i got one shotted, the second time i got flung into the air for a dragon to swoop in and eat.
User Info: WingZephyr. Top Voted Answer. My personal method involves finding a perch somewhere. There tend to be rock outcrops or pillars that you can get onto that they can't. Takes forever. Attacking any mammoths in the area that you can hit will usually pull back and giants that have run away. User Info: Slytherclaw. You know the one, one hit, run, come back rinse repeat. Using the Force Shout helps knock them back for a moment. The last two posts are pretty good and very tactical.
Or you can sneak. Just launch arrows into his back, but hide after the first shot and after each one following. My first dead Giant caught me but I kept the arrows coming. If he does catch shooting him, find a spot where you can jump to safely where he can't get to.
