I especially like this point I believe a significant proportion of accidents attributed to speed are more likely the result of driver inadequance and distraction. Speed might have made the accident more severe in these cases, but that does not make it the cause.

The police are always going to pull in vehicles that appear obviously modified than vehicles that dont, because theres a good chance that the modifications are unroadworthy.

I want to see the hooning scapegoat dropped and the real problem to be dealt with. Road surface is really a problem on QLD roads and I think a major conjuctive cause in accidents that happen in the wet. In regards to black spots, I am pissed off because the Government can formalise and introduce laws in the past 5 years to deal with the escalated hooning problem when there have been black spots around for years. The official and unofficial black spots that come to mind for me have accumulated in the 10ss of fatalities and I am only 20, so my history of accident knowledge is fairly short.
Why then is someone who is the cause of no deaths, 1 deaths, 2 deaths or even 5 deaths dealt with expediently, yet the serial killers are only being 'addressed by their importance'. Illegal for emission reasons they definitely need to be addressed but are hardly as an immediate threat as the directly unsafe bombs that inundate our roads.
I have seen a van on one occassion with the steel radial showing on both the back tyres, yet it seems these vehicles are free to drive around as they please as our law enforcement is predominantly focused with illegal modifications. I don't care about illegal mods getting defected, it serves the owner right I just want to see some balance, and subsequently safer roads. Yes, but young male drivers drive more than both their female counterparts and aged drivers. Truthfully, we are overrepresented but keeping this in mind this travel distance will skew the appearance of the statistics so that young male drivers look worse than they are, and young female drivers and eldery drivers look better than they are.
As I said above forming statistics without a constant method of comparison is a great way to undermine their validity.
